Friends of Rob Wagner

For Rob Wagner, it's always been about education. Growing up in a family of teachers, Rob knows that education is how we build a progressive future.

Rob grew up in in our community and graduated from our local public schools. Today, he's raising his four kids here just down the street from his parents. He's a school volunteer, a community leader, and an elected member of the Lake Oswego School Board.

Rob's never been afraid to step up and get to work – helping lead campaigns on tax fairness, social justice, environmental protection, and to help lower-income students stay in school and move into good careers.

Professionally, Rob is an associate vice president at Portland Community College, where he oversees community outreach and the PCC Foundation. He was appointed by Governor Ted Kulongoski to serve on the state board for the Oregon Commission for Voluntary Action and Service – the agency that oversees the AmeriCorps program.

Rob graduated from Portland State and earned a master’s degree in public policy from George Washington University. He served as a legislative aide to an Oregon State Representative in the late 1990s and for nearly a decade as director of legislative affairs for the American Federation of Teachers of Oregon.

Rob and his wife Laurie live in the Forest Highlands neighborhood off Knaus Road. Zack and Mia are in their first year at LOHS, just about to get their learner’s permits (look out on the roads!) and Carlo and Alex attend LOJHS.
